Updates:

  • Library Takeout Patrons: we will call or email you when your items are ready for pick up. Thank you for your patience as we launch this new service!

  • The library building is closed until we are ready to safely reopen. In the meantime please use Library Takeout or take advantage of our fantastic online resources.

BC One Card

How do I get a BC OneCard?

  • Bring your home public library card and current ID into the library and ask for a BC OneCard.

How many items may I borrow?

  • 15 items (up to: 2 magazines, 2 children's magazines, 4 dvds, 4 audiobooks)

If I am a talking book user?

  • You may borrow talking books or DAISY CDs with a letter and library card from your home library.

May I renew or place holds?

  • You may renew books three times online or by phone or in person at the library.
  • You may have five holds at a time.

Where do I return items?

  • Returns may be made at any participating public library in BC, but please try to return items where you borrowed them.

Note to One Card borrowers from the Okanagan Regional Library

Items borrowed from the Penticton Public Library and returned to branches of the Okanagan Regional Library are first sent to Kelowna and then mailed to Penticton. We cannot “checkin” an item until we receive it. Therefore, it is still considered “out” and will appear so on your record. While traveling time is taken into consideration when fines are assessed, items still out may effect the number of new items you may borrower. If you make frequent use of our library, please consider returning our items directly.
